Arrangements & Safety for Meetings

  1. We are glad to say we have now restarted Sunday morning services at 10:30am in our chapel.
  2. We have undertaken a detailed risk assessment [pdf] and will be complying with the government guidance for churches to minimise the risk of transmitting the virus that causes COVID-19.
  3. As always, visitors are welcome, but we would ask that you contact the church in advance or phone on 07583 999974 to reserve a place.
  4. Due to the social distancing guidelines the capacity of the chapel is reduced and it may not be possible to accommodate all who wish to attend. However, the service will be recorded and available to view on our YouTube channel here later in the day (this will be updated as required, please note, if using Safari a version later than 10 will be needed).

If you are intending to join with us physically on a Sunday please note the following safety measures we have introduced:

  1. Do not attend if you, or a household member, has COVID-19 symptoms, or has had a positive COVID-19 test result.
  2. Arrive before 10:30am so we have time to seat everyone safely. You may need to queue outside. Please observe 2m social distancing while waiting.
  3. Before entering the building please put down your bag etc on the table while you clean your hands with the high quality hand sanitising gel provided.
  4. Everyone attending over the age of 10 is required by law to wear a face covering, unless they have a medical exemption.
  5. A steward will record your attendance for NHS Test and Trace purposes (for more information see the additional note below).
  6. A steward will direct you to where you/your household should sit.
  7. Toilets will be available but a steward will ensure only one person is in the narrow corridor at a time.
  8. No congregational singing is included in our service in line with government guidance.
  9. We are unable to provide separate ministry (Junior Church) for the children. Parents are responsible for their children and they must stay with you to maintain social distancing at all times.
  10. At the end of the service please leave the building promptly. A steward will direct you from your seat to the door to ensure social distancing is maintained.
  11. On leaving the building please remember to take all your personal possessions and water bottles with you and clean your hands with sanitising gel provided.
  12. Please continue to observe government social distancing requirements after leaving the building.

Additional note about the NHS Test and Trace and Data Protection

If someone who has attended a recent service tests positive for COVID-19, NHS Test and Trace should contact them and ask for details of anyone that they may have had contact with. If they mention their attendance at Hope Church, we will then be asked by NHS Test and Trace for details of those who attended. We are following government guidance by keeping a record of attendance. The only information that we will pass on is your name and phone number along with the date and time of your attendance. General Data Protection Regulations allow us to do this to help minimise the transmission of COVID-19 and support public health and safety. We will seek your consent to retain this data solely for the purposes of NHS Test and Trace. The attendance sheet will be destroyed after 21 days.
